I had to take it back to my late 90s/early 00s R&B roots. When I first started writing songs, they were mostly love songs, so with “LOVE,” I’m truly taking it back to my roots! There’s so much negativity being pushed to the mainstream, trying to diminish the importance of families of African descent. The family unit starts at the head with two people who have a strong, bonding partnership, which I wanted to showcase in my lyrics. So not only is it Pan African/Black History Month…it is also Black Love Month. TTYS!
